Set in the heart of Kirkby-in-Ashfield the site can be accessed by many routes either by foot or by car. Vehicles are advised to use the Lindleys Lane entrance to the site which runs off the B6020 road through Kirkby-in-Ashfield. Parking is provided at this entrance with easy access to walks and the visitor centre*.

Access by foot can be made into the site from various places around the vicinity including Laburnum Avenue (off B6018 to Selston), St Wilfrid's Church (B6018 Church Street near Kirkby Cross). Also access from Annesley Woodhouse/Nuncargate via The Cricketers Arms public house and from Kingsway (B6021) via Grives Lane.
